THE MARINE AND COASTAL ACCESS ACT 2009 AND THE MARINE WORKS (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) REGULATIONS 2007 (as amended) APPLICATION FOR A MARINE LICENCE
Notice is hereby given that Tarmac Marine Limited (Tarmac Marine, Drayton House, Drayton Lane, Oving, Chichester, West Sussex. PO20 2EW) and Hanson Aggregates Marine Limited (Burnley Wharf, Marine Parade, Southampton. SO14 5JF) are applying to the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) to undertake a regulated activity under Part 4 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. The applications are for marine licences to dredge marine aggregates from Area 500/1-6, off the West coast of The Isle of Wight. The proposed extraction area is located approximately 12km
to the South West of The Isle ofWight.
Tarmac Marine Limited proposes to extract a total of 12,750,000 tonnes of aggregate over a period of 15 years, with a maximum total single year extraction of 1,700,000 tonnes from areas 500/1-4. Hanson Aggregates Marine Limited proposes to extract a total of 11,250,000 tonnes of aggregate over a period of 15 years, with a maximum total single year extraction of 1,600,000 tonnes from areas 500/1,2,5,6.

Copies of the environmental statement may also be inspected free of charge and by prior appointment at the offices of the MMO, Newcastle upon Tyne or via the MMO's public register under the South Eastern region, application reference MLA/2015/00491(Tarmac) and MLA/2015/00492 (Hanson) available at: https://www.gov.uk/check-marine-licence-register.
Representations or objections in respect of the application should be made in writing, giving an address to which correspondence relating to the representation or objection maybe sent, to the Marine Licensing Team, MMO, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 7YH, or alternatively emailed* to marine.consents@marinemanagement.org. uk within 42 days of the date of the first notice (27.01.2016), quoting
reference MLA/2015/00491(Tarmac) or MLA/2015/00492 (Hanson).
The MMO will pass to the applicant a copy of any objection or representation we receive.
