THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (FIRST CONTROLLED ZONE) (AMENDMENT 11) ORDER 2015
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT SOUTHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL made the above Order on 4th March 2015.
1 The effects of which will be: (a) To simplify the charges for on-street parking in the city centre during the Day Charging Period by standardising the existing Red (including Red Outer), Blue, Purple, East Street and Bedford Place tariffs into a single Inner tariff. The charges for this new tariff are shown below:
Length of Stay (up to): 30 mins 1 hour 1 hour 30 mins 2 hours
Charge: £1.00 £2.00 £3.00 £4.00
Note: The above will not impact the 10 minutes free parking period where currently available. (b) To amend the charges for Outer Tariff(Green) and Outer Tariff (Grey) pay and display bays during the Day Charging Period. The new charges are shown below:
Length of Stay (up to): 1 hour 2 hours 3 hours 4 hours Over 4 hours
Outer (Green) £1.00 £2.50 £3.60 £4.70 N/A
Outer (Grey) £1.00 £2.50 £4.70 £5.50
(c) To replace the current £2.00 flat rate charge for the Evening Charging Period with the following:
Length of Stay (up to): 30 mins 1 hour 1 hour 30 mins 2 hours
Charge £0.50 £1.00 £1.50 £2.00
Note 1: The Day Charging Period runs from 8am - 6pm Monday to Saturday and 1pm - 6pm Sundays, and the Evening Charging Period runs from 6pm - 8pm Monday to Saturday.
Note 2: After considering the responses received to the public consultation, it has been decided to move the Pay and Display bays in Queen's Way (between Houndwell Place and Bernard Street) from the Inner Tariff to the Outer Tariff (Green).
2 The Order comes into operation on 8th March 2015.
3 Copies of the Order, relevant maps and statements of reasons for proposing may be inspected during normal working hours at Civic Centre, Southampton SO14 7LY. Further information may also be obtained from the Southampton Highways Partnership (Traffic Management) on 023 8079 8063.
4 Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of the Order, make application for this purpose to the High Court.
