WE VISITED Gun Wharf Quays the other day, just for somewhere to take some visiting family.
I was not looking forward to it as I hate driving into Portsmouth centre.
I decided that we should try their park-and-ride facility for a change, as we could park all day at one price.
We arrived to well-laid-out parking at a price of £4 for the day. The bus into the centre ran every 15mins in which we were told also of places of interest that we may want to visit.
We arrived at a lovely bus station which was a short walk from Gun Wharf and the Naval Dockyard. The shopping tidy was very clean with people noticeably keeping the area clean, and once out of the shopping centre we were on the waterfront with plenty of seating for the visitors.
A far cry from what our city has to offer visitors.
I have always loved our city but lately it has begun to deteriorate into an uninviting place to visit.
So wake up Southampton council and actually do something to make me and others proud of our area
