MAY I politely request through this letters page that the increasing number of manic speeding motorists hurling foul mouthed/insulting abuse at me that if their ‘problems’ are with age, disability, mobility scooters generally or possibly with me personally, that they stop, park safely up the road, and discuss their ‘issues’ with me face-to-face in a brave, civilised manner where I may point out the difficulties of always having access to footpaths.
This applies particularly to the three ‘yobs’ in the bright red van who hurled a plastic bottle at me on Sunday afternoon in Newtown Road, Verwood,
For were it not for a leg disability I suffered at age 37, I would still be pedalling my bike untaxed, uninsured, with two not four wheels on the ground on public highways.
Don’t be frightened, just have the courage to abuse me to my face.
Marilyn Warburton
