Regarding the letter from Mr/Ms “name and address supplied” or whatever you wish to class yourself as.

I thought “oh no, here we go again”, now it’s “engendering a divide in children’s books”!

Please! Where is it all going to stop? Clothes, now books!

I’ve got six grandchildren, three boys and three girls, and that is what they want to call themselves, as we do, not a neutral person or people.

All my grandchildren love reading and I’m always buying them books.

The little ones enjoy anything, boy or girl, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Angelina Ballerina stories.

My older grandchildren as they go on to more novel-type books, migrate to typical girl and boy reading, teenage girly and mystery/action, boy stuff.

So yes, when I go to the book shop and the assistant asks “boy or girl?”, I’m glad to be pointed in the right direction, because that’s what I am looking for, boy or girl literature.

First it was clothes, then the census, now books – when will it all stop?

The majority of us want to keep things how they are, and our youngsters do too, as this is how it’s been since life began.

I’m not so insensitive to understand the minority who wish this change and why, but everyone to their own, so please don’t force a way of life on us because they wish this, also to the point our children are getting confused too.
