HOW disappointing that the Coca-Cola truck is being allowed to visit Southampton again. At a time when obesity levels and tooth decay are so high, particularly among children, why would anyone want to promote a sugar, caffeine and chemical filled addictive drink.
Also, perhaps more importantly, Coca-Cola is responsible for huge amounts of plastic waste, which litters our streets and parks, then ends up destroying our oceans, killing birds and sea creatures who inadvertently eat plastic particles.
This huge multinational corporation uses no recycled plastic in its bottles, doesn’t support the introduction of deposit schemes, yet thinks it acceptable to create single-use disposable drinks containers.
I fail to see how this monster truck, yet another vehicle belching toxic fumes throughout its journey through the UK, can bring any benefit to anyone other than its shareholders.
