ANOTHER letters page, another pro-Brexit letter with Remainers jibe from Dave Christian.

Having reminded us again that we lost, we’re apparently also disorientated (just like the rest of the country then!).

He reveals that roughly 50 per cent of those who voted Remain now want to leave. Fake news!

With the triggering of Article 50 all Remainers will leave the EU regardless of their wishes. I wonder what percentage of all referendum voters wish they’d never heard of the word “Brexit” and all that it has come to represent?

Mr Christian then states: “Most of the big businesses which were strenuous Remainers now concentrate on what is practical.”

True! The same businesses are now busy opening new centres in Paris, Brussels and Berlin. They have also been busy removing many millions of pounds of their assets from our shores. You can’t get more practical than that!

No doubt he thinks this action is very unpatriotic. In reality, they are being totally prudent, as are all the Remainers who are now having no say in the direction that Brexit takes and are busy securing their own futures to the best of their ability.

The referendum was never about being patriotic. It was understandably about every voter’s self interest on many subjects ranging from the economy to immigration. With the leaving of the EU taking from an estimated two to ten years to achieve, and many more years to judge as to whether a success or failure, it’s time for Mr Christian to find a different subject to write about, or possibly, even to take a sabbatical.
