SAINTS players and staff were forced to relocate to a new hotel in Wales after their reservations were cancelled, it has been reported.

Southampton FC are set to take on Swansea at the Liberty Stadium this evening in a huge game for both clubs.

A national newspaper has reported that despite booking 40 rooms at the Marriott hotel in Swansea, the club was forced to stay in the Vale of Glamorgan, which is more than 30 minutes away from the stadium.

The Daily Mail is reporting that despite being told the bookings had been cancelled due to a 'virus' at the hotel, members of the public can still stay at the Marriott.

A club source was quoted as saying "This has caused Mark Hughes and the team a huge inconvenience and we can only think that someone somewhere wants to make life as difficult as possible for us ahead of this game."

The hotel has reportedly confirmed that it is open and rooms are available for booking.

General manager Michael Downie was quote as saying: "As a matter of guest privacy it would be inappropriate to comment on specific reservations."
