ORIOL Romeu is sure Saints have the quality to stay in the Premier League, but insists: “Now is the time to prove it.”
The Spanish midfielder played the full 90 minutes as Saints came from behind to beat West Brom 3-2 at the Hawthorns.
“Yes, we are sure about that, we have the quality,” said Romeu.
“We wanted to prove that. Not enough times have we done that, only in some periods of the games, some parts of the season.”
Saints’ two remaining Premier League games this month are both against sides in the top seven.
They are at home to Liverpool on Sunday and then visit Burnley after the FA Cup tie at West Brom - followed by three successive games against teams below them - Stoke City, Newcastle United and Swansea City.
All are great opportunities for Saints to show the quality needed to pull further clear of what is developing into a thrilling relegation scrap.
“We need to do that consistently and on a weekly basis,” continued Romeu.
“It is a moment to enjoy and feel happy about ourselves but there are still many games to go.”
