HAMPSHIRE'S Sir Ben Ainslie triumphed in the America's Cup World Series in Oman, even though his team failed to win any races today.
His Land Rover BAR team led overnight after winning two of three races yesterday, and they were able to clinch a win despite coming second, fourth and then third in today's events.
Ainslie, who lives in Lymington, beat Jimmy Spitfill's Oracle Team USA by two points overall, with the points from today's races doubled.
Glenn Ashby's Emirates Team New Zealand, Oracle Team USA and Groupama Team France won a race each today.
The New Zealanders lead overall in the series, with New York next up in early May before visits to Chicago, Portsmouth and Toulon and a potential leg in Japan.
