SHOLNG have called in the cavalry to boost their Sydenhams Premier Division title chances.
The Boatmen have signed defender Luke Dempsey and central midfielder Micky Hubbard who will both go straight into the squad for Saturday’s home match against the club Hubbard has just left, Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
Thirty-year-old Hubbard will bring oodles of experience to the side having done the rounds with Hamworthy, Gosport, Poole, Wimborne, Dorchester, Winchester City and Lymington Town.
At 24, Dempsey is six years Hubbard’s junior, but he too has gained plenty of know-how since starting his career with Sholing in 2008/09.
His travels have taken him to Winchester City, AFC Totton and, most recently, Andover Town.
Sholing are currently nine points adrift of leaders Moneyfields with a game in hand.
