ALRESFORD Town have announced a spate of new arrivals for the upcoming Sydenhams Premier Division season.

First in was former Whitchurch, Amesbury and Petersfield boss Jim Macey who will assist manager Richard Luffman along with Ryan Doswell.

Defenders Liam Hibberd and Luke Dempsey have switched camps from league runners-up Andover Town after the north Hampshire club made the regrettable decision to turn down promotion for financial reasons.

The Magpies have also swooped for Kieren Stephens, who hit 13 goals for Amesbury last season, and pacey, young midfielder/forward IK Hill who has gained Southern League experience with Winchester City.

Hill was closely monitored by Portsmouth two seasons ago, but the youngster needs more game time than he has been getting with Winchester.

City’s director of football Dave Malone said: “We all wish IK the best of luck at Alresford. The lad has been a credit to himself and his family over the past three years.

“Unfortunately IK has never quite managed to secure a regular place with City and playing at a lower level for a season might well be what he needs.”

Winchester, meanwhile, have extended the contracts of striker Oli Bailey and defender Josh Harfield.

“Both made massive impacts for us last year and we look forward to them developing even further next season,” said the club.
