STEVE Claridge’s Salisbury can look forward to a future in the Evo-Stik South Premier.

The Whites put their recent wobbles behind them to clinch the second automatic West Division promotion spot with a tense 2-1 home win over Didcot Town.

Stuart Green stooped to head Salisbury into a 19th-minute lead with his 22nd goal of the season, but that good work was undone when Rhys Baggridge’s underhit back pass gifted Felipe Barcelos an equaliser eight minutes later.

But Salisbury held their nerve in front of a 759 Ray Mac crowd and, after Green had hit the woodwork, they were awarded a penalty when Lewis Benson was brought down.

George Colson scored from the spot and two good saves by Charlie Searle ensured the Whites got over the line on an afternoon when chasing trio Wimborne, Bristol Manor Farm and Bideford all failed to win.
