IF Blackfield & Langley are to overhaul Andover Town at the Sydenhams Premier summit, they are going to have to work hard for it.

The league leaders pulled six points clear with a 4-0 win at Amesbury tonight – albeit that Blackfield have three games in hand.

Mike Gosney and Micky Hubbard put Andover 2-0 up before Zach Glasspool weighed in with a double.

Hamble Club saw off Shaftesbury 5-0 through Nathan Lynch (2), River Smith, Nick Watts and Connor Rowe and there were 3-0 wins for Brockenhurst and Bashley at Newport IW and Petersfield Town respectively.

Matt Sheedy (2) and Mitch Speechley-Price scored for Brock, while Dan Munday (2) and Conor Whiteley were the Bash heroes.

On Monday night Alex Sawyer’s late free-kick earned Sholing a 2-2 draw at Fareham Town.

Dan Mason had given the Boatmen the lead – his eighth goal in seven games – only for Fareham to hit back through Matt Andrews and Vaughnie McGhee.
