FORMER Alresford Town and Winchester City co-boss Danny Robinson has landed an away tie in the FA Vase quarter-finals.
But Robinson’s Thatcham Town will have little more than 50 miles to travel on Saturday, February 24 when they visit Wiltshire outfit Melksham Town.
Robinson, assisted by former Bashley defender/manager Andy Darnton, masterminded a 2-1 win over Bromsgrove Sporting on Saturday to steer Thatcham through to the last eight.
Both goals were scored by ex-Blackfield & Langley winger Ekow Elliott.
Thatcham, a former Sydenhams Wessex League club, are currently second in the Hellenic Premier Division.
Their next Vase opponents Melsham sit third in the Toolstation Western Premier and saw off Tring Town 2-1 on Saturday to reach round six of the Vase.
FA Vase sixth round draw (winners receive £4,125): Bracknell Town v Marske Utd, Melksham Town v Thatcham Town, Stockton Town v Windsor, Wolverhampton SC or Leighton Town v 1874 Northwich.
