SALISBURY and Bideford AFC have been fined £400 apiece by the Football Association.

It follows a disciplinary hearing into the events at Salisbury’s Raymond McEnhill Stadium on Saturday, December 2.

Referee Daniel Lamport abandoned the match on 43 minutes after the second of two red cards, one for each side, had prompted a fight to erupt on the steps to the tunnel.

Salisbury were leading the north Devon visitors 3-0 at the time in the Evo-Stik South West.

Bideford’s Billy Tucker, whose sending-off for a second yellow appeared to trigger the altercation, has been suspended for six matches and fined £220.

Tucker had earlier been involved in the incident that saw Salisbury’s George Colson shown a straight red after 31 minutes.

The Southern League will now decide on what will happen with the fixture.

Salisbury, currently second in the table, host Yate Town on Saturday (3pm).
