HAMBLE Club ended Baffins Milton’s stunning 100 per cent start to the Hampshire Premier League season.

The defending champions came from a goal down to win 3-1 and record their 15th win in 17 games.

Shane Cornish had thrust Baffins into a 25th-minute lead, and at that stage a 14th successive league victory was on.

But Mike Byrne levelled before half time and top scorer Ricky Bull, with his 16th league goal of the season, and Bobby Lamb completed Hamble’s success.

Hamble have another huge league game this coming weekend, at second-placed Otterbourne.

The Otters, who are the only team to have beaten Hamble in league action this term, warmed up for the clash by caning visiting Liphook 4-0.

Tom Wright took his top flight tally to 19 – three more than anyone else in the division – with goals in the seventh and 86th minutes.

Tom Wright scored the other two just after half time.

Bush Hill won 3-1 at Locks Heath with goals from Dan Smith (10 mins), Reece Meek (57) and Lewis Gundry (71). Ed Gyasi (50) replied.

A 21st-minute goal from Shaun Ridoutt gave Hedge End Rangers victory in their bottom-two battle with Colden Common.

Common are now four points adrift at the bottom, and Hedge End also have four games in hand.

QK Southampton lost 2-0 at Headley, second-half goals coming from Rob Fry and Martin Ellis.

Chris Lavisher netted twice, in the 14th and 60th minutes, as Overton beat visiting Stockbridge 2-0.

Bobby Scott and Sam Bichard (penalty) were on target as Paulsgrove defeated Winchester Castle by the same scoreline.
