THERE was desperate disappointment for AFC Totton tonight, beaten 3-2 at home by Bideford AFC in the Evo-Stik South West.

The Stags got off to a calamitous start, falling 2-0 down inside six minutes to goals by Ben Seymour and Ben Carter.

But once Jack Smith had turned in Jack Masteron’s corner for 2-1, a host of chances came Totton’s way with Charlie Gunson and Toby Adekunle denied by keeper Steve Oliver, Tony Lee heading wide and Craig Feeney’s deflected effort going just off target.

They finally made one count on the brink of half-time when Dave Allen’s ball over the top picked out Feeney who squared for Adekunle to finish.

Feeney clattered the post with a cracking effort from 30 yards on the hour mark before Kevin Squire headed Bideford back in front against the run of play.

Totton had the chance to level when Lee was brought down in the area, but Gunson’s penalty struck the bar.

To add insult to injury, the Stags had Allen red-carded for a second bookable offence nine minutes from time.

It was Totton's second home defeat in four days, dropping them to seventh.
