AFC TOTTON’S under-18s won a dramatic penalty shootout to book their place in the FA Youth Cup first round proper.
The young Stags were held 2-2 by Ash United after 90 minutes at the Total Branding Community Stadium last night – Charlie Hennan and Harry Prisk netting Totton's goals.
The score remained that way after extra-time, despite Ash being reduced to ten men.
It was neck-and-neck at 2-2 in the shootout before the tide turned Totton’s way when keeper Connor Nolan saved Ash’s third penalty after the Stags had buried theirs.
Both teams scored with their fourth attempt and it was left to James Harding to net Totton’s winner, earning them a home tie against Cheltenham Town (date to be confirmed).
