Former Hampshire cult hero Imran Tahir took record one-day international figures for of 7-45 as South Africa hammered the West Indies by 139 runs.

Tahir, whose 190 wickets for Hampshire across all formats from 2008-14 helped him break into the Proteas side,  also became the fastest South African to 100 ODI wickets, in his 58th appearance (one less than Morne Morkel).

Hashim Amla's 110 underpinned South Africa's 343-4, which also featured half-centuries for Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis.

Then it was over to Tahir as the Tri-Series hosts were skittled for 204 in reply, leaving both teams on two wins along with Australia but South Africa leading the table after a second bonus point.

The hosts slipped to 128-5 as Wayne Parnell's slower ball castled Darren Bravo, Denesh Ramdin holed out off Shamsi (two for 41) and Marlon Samuels edged Tahir to keeper De Kock.

Pollard and Jason Holder put on 41 before Tahir removed Holder lbw and clean bowled Brathwaite first ball. Sunil Narine survived the hat-trick ball but from the final delivery of the over, Pollard picked out Behardien to give Tahir his fifth scalp.

Sulieman Benn failed to score and though Taylor showed some late defiance and brought up the 200 with a huge six off Tahir, he was bowled next ball for 16 as Tahir became the first South Africa bowler to take seven wickets in an ODI.
