Southampton Thai boxers Kelvin Kendall and Mo Abdurahman are celebrating title success on home turf.

The pair from Southampton Look Borai Gym won a title each in the Fast & Furious 12 fight night at city nightclub Oceana.

Kendall beat Troy Matthews from Portsmouth Boxing to claim the Southern Area boxing title on a unanimous decision, while Abdurahman took the English K1 title with a first round knockout against Damo Weeden of Phoenix Bournemouth.

There wasn’t such success for Look Borai’s Lawrie Flanagan who lost to Pete Thomas from WAKT in a Southern Area Muay Thai title through a second round stoppage.

“The show went very well, packed night of action,” said organiser Richard Harding. “It was an exciting night of tough match ups, very even fights throughout, looking forward to doing another three shows next year.”

In the undercard fights, Gunn Taylor, another from the Look Borai crop, got a draw in a very tough boxing match against Christian Napolitano of R&R Boxing.

Meanwhile, other Look Borai fighter Brandon De Morney lost a majority decision to Connor Preston from R&R Boxing and then Joe Ludolf won a split decision against a very tough Jake Lawry from WAKT over 5 rounds of thai boxing.

Andjez Pogolski from Lookborai Southampton jumped in at a day’s notice to fight against Mike Hughes from Poole Cage Academy but lost a unanimous decision.
