EASTLEIGH manager Richard Hill has departed the club with the Spitfires 15th in the National League.

The decision, which is reported in the club statement as 'by mutual consent' comes following a 3-0 defeat at relegation-threatened Ebbsfleet United.

Eastleigh are without a win in 11 matches in all competitions, with two fixtures against League Two Newport County in the FA Cup included.

Hill's side would have been due to host Manchester United but were defeated 3-1 by the Exiles in a replay following a 1-1 draw at Rodney Parade.

Hill was appointed for his second spell as boss at the Silverlake Stadium in September 2023, replacing the sacked Lee Bradbury.

He had been operating as club director since March the same year, before taking on the management job again.

Hill won promotion to the National League with the Spitfires during his first spell as manager, between 2012-15.

Eastleigh's statement adds: "We will provide updates of a new manager in due course."
