HAMPSHIRE Hawks have announced the signing of Afghanistan international Naveen-ul-Haq for their final six Vitality Blast group matches.

The 24 year old will also be available for the knockout stages in September, should the Hawks advance.

Naveen is a medium fast bowler and a specialist in the T20 format – having taken 186 wickets at an average of 23.73 from 156 appearances.

He also boasts an exceptional Vitality Blast record, having spent the previous three campaigns with Leicestershire Foxes.

In 33 appearances at Uptonsteel County Ground, Naveen amassed 54 wickets, taking a best of 5-11 against Worcestershire Rapids.

Furthermore, he has become a popular player in numerous franchise leagues around the world, with appearances in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the SA20 and many more.

Representing his native Afghanistan, the bowler has also shone on an international stage, with 62 wickets in IT20s and ODIs.
