SAINTS stars kicked off their October international duty in qualifying action for the upcoming major tournaments on Thursday evening, October 7.
Only two players were involved, with Moussa Djenepo representing Mali while Tino Livramento received his second cap for England under-21s.
Saints’ Malian winger played a starring role as his side romped to a convincing 5-0 World Cup qualifying win over Kenya, remaining unbeaten in the wqualifying process.
An Ibrahima Koné hat-trick and additional goals from Adama Traore and Moussa Doumbia kept Mohamed Magassouba’s side ahead of Uganda in group E.
However, Livramento was not so fortunate in terms of result. He was introduced from the subs bench by Lee Carsley after 63 minutes with the young Lions leading 2-1 in EURO 2023 qualification.
Only minutes later, opponents Slovenia equalised and managed to sneak a 2-2 draw after Connor Gallagher and Cole Palmer had put England two up before half time.
Livramento will remain with the England camp, as they travel to Andorra for a further fixture on Monday, October 11.
