NATHAN Redmond and Ralph Hasenhuttl are working on a plan to get the winger back to his devastating best.

Redmond’s season hasn’t been as fruitful as he’d like, although the 26-year-old has also had to contend with a string of injuries.

He marked his return to fitness with a goal against Norwich at the beginning of Project Restart and Hasenhuttl revealed he’s coming up with ways to increase Redmond’s chances of scoring.

The Saints boss revealed: “I think with Reddy after the injury he has had some good halves, playing well and he started good against Norwich, with the goal.

“He has had to work a lot against the ball and sometimes when he doesn’t have enough finishing or enough shooting around the box or scoring opportunities, he is not then really happy with his performance.

“He is an offensive player and he likes to be valuable for the team, scoring goals for the team and when he doesn’t he isn’t happy at all.

“But it is normal after the break that he has to find back the rhythm and everything.

"He is still not in the best shape at the moment, but we have to do everything because he is a very important player for us, especially when he has the ball, he has some qualities that really helps us.

“But for this, we must work to get him in the perfect position and we talk about this, I have a meeting with him and I must find the way to bring him to the best position for us.”
