EVERTON boss Carlo Ancelotti labelled Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg a 'good player' but refused to say whether he wants to sign him this summer.

Everton and Tottenham are believed to be interested in Saints' former captain as he has just one year remaining on his St Mary's deal.

The midfielder hasn't played since Ralph Hasenhuttl's side lost to Arsenal after picking up a knock during the match.

Asked about Everton's interest in Hojbjerg, Ancelotti acknowledged his quality but refused to go any further than that.

“I know Hojbjerg, he’s a good player," Ancelotti said.

“He is playing for Southampton, so I don’t want to talk about another Premier League player and that we are playing against soon.

"I can give an opinion about him at the end of the season.”
