SAINTS icon Matt Le Tissier and former athletics star Iwan Thomas have become Saints Foundation ambassadors.
The pair have been working closely with the club’s charitable arm throughout the coronavirus pandemic and before that with events such as the Big Saints Quiz and the Big Stadium Sleep Out.
Le Tissier is already an ambassador for the football club but now joins both Franny and Kenzie Benali - along with Saints skipper James Ward-Prowse and Maya Yoshida - in representing the charity.
Commenting on his new role, Le Tissier said: “Over the last few months, I have been helping out down at FareShare with the staff of Saints Foundation, packing and delivering food to those most vulnerable due to the current pandemic.
“Working alongside them has once again, as it has over the last few years, really shown the impact the charity has on the community and I am excited to be joining the team.
Thomas was also thrilled to be named an official ambassador of Saints Foundation.
He said: “I have seen first-hand the work they do, and I am really excited to get back out and do what I can do help. It’s a really proud day for me.”
Head of Saints Foundation, Greg Baker, revealed his delight, saying: “Iwan and Matt have both been long-time supporters of Saints Foundation and we are thrilled to bring them onboard in an official capacity.
“It’s a real pleasure to reward that with this role, and alongside our four other ambassadors, we know they can inspire some real, positive change for our city.”
