RALPH Hasenhuttl is confident Danny Ings can overtake Jamie Vardy in this year's race for the Premier League Golden Boot.

Ings' brace against Watford moved him to 18 top-flight goals, just one shy of Leicester's Vardy.

“I think everything is possible," Hasenhuttl said.

“We will play with him for the last six games and that means he will have six games to score.

“If he gets the chance you can see how fantastic his finishing is at the moment, he hits the net whenever.

“He was very hard working in the shutdown and that has given him the physical push.”

James Ward-Prowse scored Saints' third of the match to kill the game off after Jan Bednarek turned the ball in past Alex McCarthy.

And Hasenhuttl was thrilled with how his side responded to their minor setback at home to Arsenal last Thursday.

He added: “I think we didn’t play that bad against Arsenal, but we made too many mistakes against such a club.

“Today, we were more concentrated, more clinical and made better decisions.

“This is what we have to learn and when I see the performance in general, today it was absolutely a step forward.”
