SAINTS are aware of Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham’s availability – and would consider sending Fraser Forster the other way as part of any deal.

However, given the uncertainty surrounding Premier League football, the Daily Echo’s led to believe that the St Mary’s side aren’t placing a potential transaction high on their list of priorities.

Forster, along with fellow Saint Moi Elyounoussi, spent the season on loan with Celtic and helped guide them to a ninth consecutive league title, although the current campaign was curtailed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has made no secret of his desire to ensure Forster remains as the club's first-choice goalkeeper going into next season.

The shot-stopper has fallen out of favour at Saints and, due to his substantial wages and lengthy contract, is a player they could do with selling.

Ntcham has caught Saints’ attention and, as has been reported in Scotland, Celtic are open to letting him go this summer.

They initially signed him from Manchester City in 2017 without Frenchman making an appearance for the current Premier League holders.

According to the Scottish Sun, Ntcham is costing Celtic £35,000-a-week.

The 24-year-old has made over 100 appearances for Lennon’s side, scoring 19 goals.

Ntcham agreed to a four-year deal with Celtic in 2017 and then signed an improved contract just 12 months later.
