HAVING qualified for the national knockout stages of the Dynamik Cup, a national schools competition by making the regional final, Queen Mary's College women’s basketball team were soundly beaten away to Greig City Academy, located in Haringey, 67-14.

Head coach, Marcel Marvronicholas, commented: “They did a lot better, only losing the second half 16-10 when able to play a zone defence but were outplayed by a good sports academy side.”

QMC women’s basketball then returned to Hampshire College League action and with only five girls available to travel to Richard Tauntons, they pulled off a great win 27-35 with Zoe Johnson scoring an impressive 23 points. It was a great effort by all five girls that played the entire game showing strength and stamina.

The winning QMC team was made up of Mihaela Ghiruluc, Ruth Izzy, Zoe Johnson, Daina Narmontaite & Ellie Slocombe.

Their next game saw them play second placed Farnborough and seven players were present for the home game.
