SAINTS will continue training away from Staplewood until April 13.

Ralph Hasenhuttl asked his squad to complete individual fitness plans at home this week due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Saints’ players reported for duty at Staplewood on Monday but were then advised to train at home in light of prime minister Boris Johnson’s message to the UK.

And this period has now been extended until next month to fall in line with the Premier League’s announcement that professional football will remain postponed until April 30.

An update released by Saints said: “In light of the latest Premier League statement, confirming that the season will be postponed until 30th April at the earliest, Ralph Hasenhüttl’s squad will continue to follow individual fitness and conditioning work from home.

“The first team will return to Staplewood Campus on 13th April ahead of the planned recommencement of the season in May.

“All academy and girls & women’s training and fixtures remained postponed until further notice.

“Club medical and sports science staff will remain in regular contact with players from all teams to ensure they have the necessary equipment and support to maintain their fitness.”
