WOLVES will be aiming for a fourth successive win against Saints side trying to avoid a fourth successive defeat at Molineux today.
But manager Nuno Espirito Santo expects ‘a very tough challenge’ from Ralph Hasenhuttl’s sode this afternoon.
He said: “Southampton are a very good team with a good manager, they are fast and organised.
“But it’s so good to be back to Molineux and we want to be back competing.”
Wolves will be playing their first game since their remarkable 2-0 win at Manchester City, a result achieved despite missing Diogo Jota, Neto and Morgan Gibbs-White.
Roman Saiss limped off after only 13 minutes of the win at the Etihad, while Leander Dendoncker suffered a stomach injury on international duty with Belgium.
But the Wolves boss refused to reveal who will be fit for Saints’ visit. “Some of them will be involved in the game, some not,” he said.
Asked about the win at City, Nuno continued: “It's one of the good ones, of course, but there is always room to improve.
It’s always the same, we always try to build on our performances. Southampton is a totally different game.
“We have to find new solutions for the task we have. Of course, it gives you confidence but at the same time we have a responsibility to go again and do as well as possible.
“All of the games are tough. Southampton is a very good team with a very good manager. We’ve seen that, we’ve analysed them and tomorrow will be a tough challenge.”
