Defender Maya Yoshida is in Tajikistan to feature for Japan in their World Cup qualifier, with the game getting underway at 1pm.

The Blue Samurai are looking to follow up their comfortable 6-0 win over Mongolia last Thursday, a game that saw Yoshida get on the scoresheet.

Saints captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's Denmark side will play a home friendly against Luxembourg at 6pm tonight.

Denmark had to rely on an 84th minute winner from Yussuf Poulsen to see off Switzerland in their Euro 2020 qualifier at the weekend.

Another Saints player involved in a friendly is playmaker Sofiane Boufal.

His Morocco team will be in action against Gabon.

However, there won't be a reunion with Mario Lemina as the loanee is currently injured, with his last match for Galatasaray coming at the end of September.

Striker Michael Obafemi is in Under-21 action for the Republic of Ireland, who are looking to extend their lead at the top of their group.

Their U21 Euro 2021 qualifier away to Iceland gives them the chance to respond to a disappointing goalless draw with ten-man Italy last week.

Summer signing Kevin Danso is also involved in an Under-21 match.

The defender's Austria will play England this evening.
