Maya Yoshida scored for Japan as they thrashed Mongolia 6-0 in a World Cup qualifier in Saitama.
Yoshida, who is closing in on a century of caps for his country, bagged the second goal on 29 minutes and played the full match in the centre of defence as Japan romped to victory with six different scorers.
The win was a significant victory for Japan who were sat just above Mongolia heading into the game.
They face the form side of their group, Tajikistan, away from home on Tuesday.
