FORMER Saints assistant Danny Rohl has taken up a new role with Bayern Munich.
It was last week revealed by the Daily Echo that manager Ralph Hasenhuttl had lost his closest aide, with the St Mary's side confirming the news on Tuesday evening.
A short statement read: "Southampton Football Club can today [Tuesday] confirm that Danny Röhl has left his role as First Team Assistant Manager and has returned to Germany to take up a role with a Bundesliga club ahead of the upcoming season.
"Everyone at Southampton thanks Danny for his work with the club and we wish him well for the future."
Although Saints didn't name which club Rohl had joined, European giants Bayern Munich confirmed that he will become their new performance analyst coach.

Despite losing his right hand man, Hasenhuttl is said to be happy with the coaching staff at his disposal and won't be looking for another assistant.
The Austrian will be joined on the bench by Kelvin Davis, former goalkeeper coach Dave Watson and Craig Fleming.
