SAINTS will tomorrow jet off to Austria to continue their preparations for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side spent the first week of pre-season undergoing a number of gruelling fitness tests to see what level they are at following the break.

But with that out of the way, Saints can now begin to work on tactics alongside the cardiovascular sessions.

The week in Hasenhuttl’s native Austria will end with their first friendly of the summer.

Saints will play SCR Altach next Sunday before flying back to Staplewood to carry on their work ahead of the new season.

The game with the Austrian side will give Hasenhuttl the chance to see new signing Che Adams in action if he selects him to make his debut.

Adams joined the club last Monday and spent the week getting to know his new teammates.

Saints’ other summer addition, Moussa Djenepo, is still involved in the Africa Cup of Nations with Mali and won’t link up with his new team until after the tournament.

Depending on Mali's success, it's likely that the £14m winger won't report for duty on the south coast until late July.

Because of this, there is a good chance he will miss the club's week-long training camp in Dublin, although there aren't any friendlies scheduled for this trip.

However, a host of other players who went on international duty after the season ended will be returning sooner rather than later.

Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse are both due back next week after being on England duty ahead of the Nations League finals.
