FORMER Saints midfielder Oscar Gobern has left Eastleigh to be reunited with Andy Hessenthaler at Dover Athletic.

Gobern made 27 appearances for Saints, including seven starts, and after a four year-spell at Huddersfield he had brief spell at the likes of Mansfield and Yeovil before returning to Hampshire last year.

The 28-year-old made 43 National League appearances for Eastleigh, including 30 starts, as the club came within a penalty shoot-out of the play-off final.

But the former England U19 international has now been re-signed by Hessenthaler on a two-year deal, a year after the former Gillingham man brought him to the Silverlake Stadium.

Gobern’s exit comes two days after the departure of former Woking defender Joey Jones, who turned down the offer of a new contract after playing several games last season. But defender Andrew Boyce has signed a new one-year deal with the Spitfires.
