Saints striker Guido Carrillo is a transfer target for Boca Juniors, according to reports stemming from Argentinean media outlet Doble Amarilla.

The report suggests that Boca Juniors manager Nicolas Burdisso is desperate to add to the attacking department of his side.

Carrillo, who is Saints' £19.2 million record signing, spent last season on loan in Spain at Leganes.

The 28-year-old joined the St Mary's outfit in January 2018, when Mauricio Pellegrino was in the dugout.

However, he struggled to make an impact in a team that was fighting desperately against relegation.

And things went from bad to worse for Carrillo, as Pellegrino lost his job, making way for Mark Hughes.

Hughes decided to ship the striker out on loan last summer, where he linked up with Pellegrino again at Leganes.

The Argentinean had a decent season in Spain, scoring six goals to help the La Liga side finish mid-table.

Media outlet Doble Amarilla report that Boca manager Burdisso has previously sent scouts to watch the Saints loanee in action for Leganes.
