KELVIN Davis is the best man to take temporary charge according to Maya Yoshida.
Yoshida and Davis have been at Saints for a number of years and know each other on a personal level.
And the defender has stated the former captain cares more about the club than anyone else.
Yoshida said: “I know him very well because we played together for a long time.
“The training under Kelvin Davis has gone really well and we are motivated.
“Every time a new manager comes in, we all start from scratch and everyone has good motivation to show themselves and start again.
“He is a man who cares about the club more than anyone else. He is the right person to take charge and that’s my opinion.”
Saints were on the end of a 5-2 thrashing last time they played Tottenham at Wembley.
Harry Kane bagged a hat-trick to send Spurs on their way to a comfortable win and Yoshida is expecting another stern test tonight.
He added: “They are one of the greatest attacking teams and it will be similar against Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
“One small mistake will cost us.
“Defensively, we have to be solid to restrict them to less opportunities. We have fight, and we will fight with the whole club.
“The players, coaches and staff love this club and will fight for it.
“It’s going to be really difficult, it doesn’t matter who the manager is.”
