SAINTS great Matt Le Tissier has revealed his concern over the current squad.
Mark Hughes’ side were dished out a 6-1 beating by Manchester City on Sunday which is their heaviest defeat since 2012.
They have only won once in the Premier League this season and that solitary victory came against Crystal Palace at the beginning of September.
And speaking after the debacle at City, Le Tissier questioned this current side’s credentials.
The former player said: “It’s too many mistakes.
“You don’t expect to be beaten six in the Premier League game. Some of that defending was a little bit shoddy to say the least.
“You’re looking at it and thinking it’s a lack of desire, there’s a lack of intensity. We’ve been poor in front of goal.
“The team that played towards the end of last season is completely different to this one and that’s a little bit worrying.”
