THE winter season has started at Loddon Vale Indoor Bowling Club with great success.
The first friendly of the season resulted with a 161-64 victory against a touring team from Stevenage.
Winning rinks were skipped by Alan Smith 39-4, Derek Bayliss 31-6, Jim Rainbow 22-9, Mo Saunders 24-13, John Holmes 26-15 and Ian Laming 19-17.
The first round of the Egham Trophy was played last weekend with Loddon Vale beating Banister Park by 93-59.
The skips were Dougie Morgan 20-16, Steve Shaw 38-11, Gary Lovett 15-20 and Trevor Morgan 20-12.
The EIBA Area 15 two wood singles competition was played at the Basingstoke Club.
Many top players from around the area competed in some very tight games and the winner of the Area 15 event was Adam White of Chawton Park IBC based in Alton. The runner-up was Tom Warner of Five Rivers based in Salisbury.
The top Ladies also gathered for their two wood singles competition with three ladies from Loddon Vale taking part.
After some amazing games the winner of the Area 15 Ladies competition was Julie Leake from Dolphin in Poole and the runner-up was Caroline Wilson, also from Dolphin.
