RADHI Jaïdi wants his Saints under-21 side to use last night's 4-0 drubbing to Cambridge as a 'learning curve'.
Striker Ade Azeez bagged a hat-trick for the hosts, with Jevani Brown also getting himself amongst the goals.
Jaïdi was without some of his regulars due to the international break and fielded an inexperienced side for yesterday's Checkatrade Trophy game.
And he called on the youngsters to stamp out the mistakes.
Jaïdi said: “Obviously it is a difficult night for my boys.
“I think we prepared well for this game and we knew the opposition would be direct and physical.
“It’s a learning curve. They worked hard, but some things just didn't work - results aren't always fair.
“I thought we made a few mistakes which made the mission harder, and made it difficult for ourselves.
“The first goal was a product of our own mistakes and some of the decision making wasn't always the best.
“We also could have kept the ball better, especially in the midfield third, because it was a bit sloppy at times.
“We were missing key players, which would have helped our fluidity."
