SALISBURY have signed another goalkeeper following an injury to Marcus Beauchamp which threatens to sideline him for the whole Evo-Stik Premier South season.

New arrival Jake Hallett, 20, comes highly recommended, having recently been released by Norwich City.

Hallett was raised in Southampton and recruited into Saints' academy ranks, going on to sign a two-year pro deal at Norwich in 2016.

In pre-season he had trials with Aldershot Town and Maidstone United.

Hallett is expected to be available for Saturday's home game against Dorchester Town (3pm).

The Whites, meanwhile, have signed their first three development squad players on Southern League forms - Charlie Rayfield, Jack Stanley and Josh Sommerton.

Sommerton got his first taste of first-team action, playing 90 minutes against Poole Town on Tuesday.

Salisbury's director of football Mick Jenkins said: “We’re delighted that they have put pen to paper. They have bright futures ahead of them.

"This is good and is testament to their work ethic and attitude - and, of course, to the whole squad and everyone running it.”
