Rilee Rossouw's tenacious century powered record-breaking Hampshire to a 61-run Royal London One-Day Cup final victory over Kent at Lord's.

South African Rossouw fired a match-winning 125 in Hampshire's record one-day final total of 330 for seven - just 12 days after losing four teeth in the semi-final.

Rossouw underwent emergency dental surgery after being struck in the face as Hampshire beat Yorkshire by 107 runs in the Royal London semi-final on June 18.

Just four days after that he hit an unbeaten 120 in the first innings of the County Championship clash with Lancashire.

And on Saturday in London he harnessed that form again to spearhead Hampshire's march to cup glory.

The South African's innings drove the south coast outfit to a total which trumped Warwickshire's previous one-day final record of 322 in 1993 - with that score coming from 60 overs to boot.

Hampshire's new record score also offered comfortable improvement on Durham's previous 50-over final record of 312 from 2007.

Kent will forever rue their decision to bowl having won the toss, the calmest of skies and flattest of tracks gifting Hampshire the advantage.

Daniel Bell-Drummond's fine 86 looked in vain from the start of Kent's reply, and so it proved as Hampshire coasted home.

Kent captain Sam Billings also hit 75, but those two solid knocks were simply nowhere near enough to deny Hampshire.

Roussouw's three sixes and nine fours en route to his 114-ball knock put Hampshire in control, his 136-run opening stand with Tom Alsop leaving Kent nonplussed for the first 20 overs.

Alsop's knock ended on 72 from 75 balls, falling prey to Imran Quayyum with the first false shot of the day, gifting Sam Billings a routine stumping.

Captain James Vince chipped in with a tidy 23 from 24 balls that was ended by Quayyum bagging his second wicket.

And though Liam Dawson could only muster eight before holing out to Alex Blake off Joe Denly, Sam Northeast sustained the momentum at the other end, posting a vital half century.

Lewis McManus came and went quickly, skying Denly to Sean Dickson for a cheap dismissal on just six runs.

And when Joe Weatherley departed for a duck, trapped leg before by Denly, Hampshire had leaked three wickets in five overs for just 27 runs.

Gareth Berg added nine from eight balls before being clean bowled by Calum Haggett, leaving Dale Steyn and Northeast with an unbeaten 75 to guide Hampshire home to that record total.

Bell-Drummond quickly stepped up as Kent's main chance of pulling off the unlikely victory, but when he departed on 86, the game was up.

Kent started their bid for a record 331-run chase in comfortable enough fashion, but lost Heino Kuhn for 32, run out by Berg, to fall to 55 for one from 10 overs.

Denly inched to 12 off 23 balls when he sliced a delivery by Berg with Vince mopping up the catch to leave Kent 83 for two.

Dickson departed on 30 after Rossouw held firm in the deep, with Mason Crane the bowling beneficiary.

Bell-Drummond was then clean bowled by Chris Wood to leave Kent 179 for four with 15 overs to play, and the tie slipping away.

Blake was run out for nine, Darren Stevens made just 12 and Matt Henry was dismissed for a duck. Both Haggett and then Harry Podmore were run out for one run apiece, and then Billings was last to depart, forcing the issue once too often.
