WAYNE Shaw has been appointed general manager of AFC Totton Social Club.

Shaw, fondly known as the Roly-Poly Goalie, has long been a popular figure at the Testwood Stadium where he has worked as commercial manager for the last year.

Totton welcomed their former goalkeeper back with open arms after Shaw had parted company with Sutton United following the infamous ‘Piegate’ incident during the Us’ FA Cup tie with Arsenal.

Stags chairman Wayne Mew confirmed: “We are delighted to announce that Wayne Shaw has agreed to become general manager of AFC Totton Social Club.

“Wayne will now have sole responsibility for the club’s facilities and buildings, including all functions and lettings, and is also licensee of the bars.

“Totton believe this is great partnership for both parties and look forward to seeing the club grow in the future as it has done over the last six months.”

Louis Langdown's Totton begin pre-season action at Brockenhurst on Tuesday, July 10 (7.45pm).
