CRAIG McAllister has his work cut out as Gosport Borough’s new player-coach.

The experienced marksman made his debut against Tiverton Town yesterday after leaving Eastleigh by mutual consent.

But, for the second weekend in succession, Borough were beaten 5-0 as Levi and Michael Landricombe, Jamie Short, Jared Lewington and sub Jordan Rogers ran riot.

With just one team to be relegated from the Evo-Stik South Premier, there was one crumb of comfort for bottom-of-the-table Borough.

Dunstable, who are marooned down there with them, also lost 5-0 at home to Royston.

It means Borough remain two points adrift, but with two games in hand over their rivals, as reinstalled boss Alex Pike continues the search for his first win.

It doesn't get any easier for Gosport though, with high-flying Hereford due to visit on Tuesday (7.45pm).
