A HAMPSHIRE motorway is closed this morning 'due to overrunning roadworks'.
The M3 southbound is currently shut from junction seven to junction nine as a result of the work.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the roadworks closure on the #M3 southbound between J7 and J9 will not be removed at 06:00 as planned. Traffic will be directed to continue south on the #A30 from J7 until we are able to re-open

There are also reports that a lorry is blocking the exit on the junction seven roundabout.
One road user wrote on soecial media: "Hurry up. Traffic totally gridlocked."
A Highways England statement says: "Our traffic officers are heading to assist.
"If you're heading to M3 west, leave at junction six as congestion building."
