SOUTHAMPTON airport has been rated as the third best airport in the country, it has been revealed.

Southampton Airport received the accolade as part of the latest Which? satisfaction survey and has been voted above Bournemouth and London City.

The airport was also awarded four stars for its queues for bag drop, queues at security, queues at passport control, baggage reclaim and staff.

Overall the airport was given a customer score of 75 per cent ranking it the third best airport in the UK in the ‘fewer than ten million passengers per year’ category – tied with Norwich.

The top two airports were Doncaster Sheffield followed by Southend. Luton languished at the bottom of the league.
