A MAN had to be rushed to hospital after a motorway crash between a car and a motorcycle.

Causing chaos on the M27 yesterday, two people were injured with one man being taken to hospital around 4pm.

A statement from the South Central Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a road traffic collision at 3.53pm between a car and a motorcycle.

"We sent an ambulance with two people suffering injuries. One had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

"The other, a male, was taken to hospital."

The M27 had been shut eastbound at junction eight, with traffic building past West End towards Eastleigh.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman told the Daily Echo at the time that traffic was being held due to an "incident" but declined to give further details.
