PLANS have been outlined to build 15 new homes in a Winchester street.

Parish councillors heard that the mixed housing would be build at 99-103 Springvale Road, Kings Worthy.

Few details about the proposals has been released and a formal planning application has not yet been submitted, but a representative for Savills Chartered Surveyors gave an overview to members of Kings Worthy Parish Council's planning and highways committee.

According to draft minutes from the meeting, councillors raised concerns about the need for a safe access from the site; landscaping that could affect the footpath along the frontage and the sight line for drivers; that two-storey properties will dominate; and the need for affordable housing on site.

They also expressed a preference for bungalows, as well as the need to cut into the sloping bank to the rear to make the larger properties less dominating.

More details are expected to be released in the near future.
